Magic Northern Lights in Lapland

    Itinerary Description

    In this 8-day tour the group will experience the magic Lapland and the Arctic Circle with a big variety of activities and tours. The far north of Scandinavia will come alive including snowmobile safari into the wilderness, reindeer and husky sleighs and of course the breathtaking scenery of Lapland. The group will enjoy a panoramic tour of Helsinki, discover Rovaniemi and the beautiful Santa Claus Village and eat in local restaurants. And all these accompanied by local and passionate tour guides, who will reveal all the information need to know.

      Helsinki – Kemi

      The tour begins with arrival at Helsinki airport and a guided tour on the most famous attractions. Visit Helsinki Cathedral and take a walk at Senate Square, the main square of the capital. Enter Temppeliaukion church, also known as Rock Church which is built entirely by solid rock. After lunch the group will have some free time at own leisure before checking in at train station and taking the night train to Kemi.

      Kemi

      Early in the morning the group will arrive in Kemi. Following a buffet breakfast at hotel, will be transferred to Icebreaker, for an unforgettable adventure. This magnificent vessel cruises in the Gulf of Bothnia through thick ice and it’s the main tourist attraction of Kemi. The thundering sound of Sampo’s crashing steel tons of ice is one of a lifetime experience and you can even dive into the frozen sea. Follow dinner and accommodation at hotel and the evening is on leisure.

      Kemi – Ranua – Rovaniemi

      In the morning the group will transfer to Ranua to visit one of the world’s northernmost zoo and to see Arctic wildlife in its natural habitat. A walk around the park will introduce animals living in conditions as similar to their natural environments as possible, including the Polar Bears, Golden Eagle, Arctic Fox, European Mink, Siberian Musk Deer and more. The group will enjoy a local lunch at restaurant and then head to Rovaniemi where it will be accommodated.

      Rovaniemi

      The beginning of this day will include a visit to an authentic reindeer farm where the group will learn more about traditional Lappish culture and the art of reindeer farming and will enjoy a reindeer safari in the Arctic Circle. After lunch is time for a husky safari. After greeting with the friendly huskies, a husky – sledge safari through the forest and the snowy meadows, will follow. End of the day with accommodation and local dinner at hotel.

      Rovaniemi

      This day starts with a visit at the famous Santa Claus Village with many activities. Meet Santa Claus and cross the magical Arctic Circle, shop from the souvenir shops and also visit Santa’s Main Post Office After a local lunch at Santa Claus’s Village, check in at glass igloo villa, for a unique experience. Admire the stunning northern lights and enjoy a breath-taking view of the starry sky as you relax in the warmth of a warm and cosy igloo. Get ready for an aurora experience by a special designed coach.

      Rovaniemi – Kakslauttanen – Saariselka

      In the morning the group will travel to Kakaslauttanen, where they are going to have a guided tour at the world-famous glass igloos in Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. After lunch it' snowmobile safari will take place across virgin forests, over powdery mountains, in order to soak up the beautiful local scenery. Accommodation and dinner will take place at Saariselka.

      Saariselka – Kirkenes

      This day includes a king crab safari adventure tour in Kirkenes, which will offer an unforgettable experience. The group will get involved and cut the ice during the cruise, catch the crab and -the most fun part – eat the delicious meat accompanied by a big buffet on board. After the cruise visit Snowhotel, the first hotel made completely of snow and ice. Finishing the day with city tour in the rest area and accommodation at hotel.

      Kirkenes

      Last day in beautiful Lapland. After buffet breakfast at hotel, the group will have some time at own leisure and transfer to airport for their flight back.
